The International Relations Department follows and supports the international policy of the Portuguese State in the areas that belong to MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs), coordinating its representation in the international instruments’ negotiation. Currently, the MHA has bilateral agreements with more than seventy countries around the world.

Agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria on Cooperation in the field of Civil Protection (Lisbon, 3 October 2018). Approved by Decree n.º 23/2019, of October 3. Entry into force on 20 September 2020, under the terms of Notice n.º 34/2020, of September 9.

Approved by Decree no. 12/2008, DR IA, no. 109, of April 30, 2008. The diplomatic notes have been exchanged on March 21 and April 9, 2007. Approved by Resolution of the Assembly of the Republic No. 313/2021 and ratified by Decree of the President of the Republic No. 92/2021, both published on December 9, 2021. Entry into force on January 1, 2022.

Cyprus

Denmark

Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Portugal and the Government of the Republic of Venezuela on the Prevention, Control, Supervision and Repression of Illicit Consumption and Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Caracas, 17 June, 1994). Approved by Decree No. 10/1995, of 28 April. Entry into force on May 8, 1995, in accordance with Notice No. 196/1995, of 5 August.
