The event
will be held in two parts:
- the
morning part will focus on "Road Safety in the EU - Looking ahead to
2030", with the participation of H.E. Eduardo Cabrita, Portugal's Minister
for Home Affairs, and Ms. Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport.
The new EU Road Safety Strategy and the Portuguese Road Safety Strategy will
also be presented;
- The
afternoon session will focus on "Road Safety in Africa: what role for EU
development policy?", introduced by the UN Special Envoy for Road Safety, Mr.
Jean Todt. The session will also feature presentations from the European
Commission, the African Union Commission, a representative from Cape Verde, the
Global Road Safety Partnership and the World Resources Institute.
