In the context of his official visit to Lisbon from 5 to 15 May, the Director General of the International Organization for Migration, António Vitorino, met on 10 May with the Minister for Home Affairs, Eduardo Cabrita. This meeting proved to be quite an opportunity to address the European Pact on Migration and Asylum, the External Dimension of Migration and potential strategic areas of cooperation between IOM and Portugal.
António Vitorino also attended the Ministerial Conference on the Management of Migratory Flows held on 11 May, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
