Eduardo Cabrita hosted in Lisbon, on 10 and 11 May respectively, the Executive Director of the European Asylum Support Office (EASO), Nina Gregori, and the Executive Director of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX), Fabrice Leggeri. The Minister further promoted the meeting between the Executive Director of FRONTEX and the Security Forces and Services.
Each of the bilateral meetings took stock of the work being carried out by the Portuguese Presidency, particularly at the level of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum, and provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation between Portugal and these European agencies.
The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union has been promoting the recognition and relevance of the performance and cooperation with these Agencies, with the Ministerial Conference on the Management of Migration Flows featuring another relevant moment.
