Past and future of the European fight against trafficking in human beings

​The videoconference "Ten years on the European Anti-Trafficking Directive and the new European Strategy to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings (2021-2025)" will take place on the morning of May 25.

Integrated in the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and organised by the Observatory on Trafficking in Human Beings (OTSH) and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), the international conference will be attended by the Minister for Home Affairs, Eduardo Cabrita, the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, the Secretary of State for Justice, Anabela Pedroso, and the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, Rosa Monteiro, in its opening session. 

The programme focuses on the 10 years of implementation, in Portugal and in other Member States, of the European Directive on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims, and on the priorities of the new European Strategy for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
