The second meeting of the Law Enforcement Working Party (LEWP), dedicated exclusively to the recast of EUROPOL’s mandate, was held on 08 February.
The discussions started with the first text review of thematic block 1 (cooperation with private entities) and block 3 (reinforcement in the field of research and innovation), moving on to the analysis of block 5 (reinforcement of cooperation with third countries) and block 7 (clarify whether EUROPOL may request to open an investigation into crimes that affect the Union's common interest).
