Portuguese Presidency marks the 17th European Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Terrorism
The 17th European Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Terrorism, established as a tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack in Atocha Station on 11 March 2004, this year is marked at the Representation of the European Commission in Madrid with the motto "Always United".

The event brings together the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, Minister Eduardo Cabrita, representing the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the Spanish Minister of Home Affairs, the French Minister of Justice, the German Federal Government Commissioner for the Victims and Bereaved of Terrorist Offences committed on National Territory, the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator and the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office. Victims of terrorism and victims' associations were also invited to be part of this event.

The presence of the Minister Eduardo Cabrita, at 4pm in the Gardens of Campo del Moro of the Royal Palace in Madrid, during the solemn act that marks this European Day and the anniversary of the Atocha attack, presided over by the King of Spain, Felipe VI, is also noteworthy.
