The Minister for Home Affairs, accompanied by the National Director of the PSP and the Commander General of the GNR, two entities that, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Home Affairs, were entrusted with the organisation of the event, attended the opening session.
In his inaugural speech, Eduardo Cabrita underlined that the priorities of the PPEU are to prevent and combat common and transversal threats and to continue to be a partner in all initiatives aimed at safeguarding fundamental European values. Stressing the current challenges, is committed to a resilient Europe, where the security and protection of Public Spaces and Critical Infrastructures must be underpinned by a strategy capable of anticipating, preventing, protecting and responding to old and new threats.
