Debate on the Security and Protection of Critical Infrastructures
The Seminar "Safety and Security of Public Spaces and Critical Infrastructure" ended on 18 March.

On this second day, dedicated to the theme of resilience of Critical Infrastructures, the debate focused on the contribution of security forces to the promotion of synergies, harmonisation of methodologies and sharing of good practices among the multiple actors, in order to establish efficient cooperation mechanisms that contribute to resilience and social stability, based on an efficient strategy for anticipation, prevention, protection, response and recovery to possible disruptive events. At the basis of the discussions was the proposed European Directive on the subject and the inherent change of paradigm for the "Resilience of Critical Entities". The "Infrastructure Safety and Protection Course", developed by GNR in September 2019, in partnership with 40 external entities, was referred to as a benchmark good practice on the field.

The event was closed by the Deputy Secretary General in charge of International Relations and Management of EU Funds of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Ricardo Carrilho, with the conclusions set out in his speech.
