In the context of the fruitful relations between Portugal and France, a meeting was held in Lisbon on 23 March 2021 between Mr Eduardo Cabrita, Minister for Home Affairs, and his French counterpart, Mr Gérald Darmanin.
Various topics on the current political agenda of the two countries were discussed, including the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, Schengen, the pandemic, bilateral cooperation and the preparation of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will take place between January and June 2022.
